Humane Society Stages First Annual Pub Walk To Raise Money For Special Needs Cats
Participants can choose to walk for one of three special Tree House cats while sipping drinks at four Andersonville bars.

CHICAGO, IL – July 16, 2019 – Tree House Humane Society is hosting its first ever Cat Walk Pub Crawl, a unique hybrid of doing social good while building social connections. Attendees will have the opportunity to sip special drinks and indulge in drink specials while chit chatting with Tree House staff and learning more about Tree House’s mission and programs. All cat lovers, dog lovers, beer lovers, and their friends are welcome, and anyone who has ever been interested in adopting, fostering, or becoming a Colony Caretaker will have the opportunity to have all of their questions answered while spinning prize wheels and taking part in fun giveaways.
Guests can also choose to support one of three special needs cats: Leonardo Pescatore, Cleopatra, or Adam(o). They’ll be able to show their support via social media using hashtags for each cat (#TeamLeoCat, #TeamCleoCat, #TeamAdamoCat) and can ask friends and family to take part in helping the cause by donating in their (cat’s or human’s) names.
According to Tree House’s Executive Director Raissa Allaire, “This is a really special event for Tree House, and the first of its kind for the organization. We want to connect with the community and share our passion for animal welfare and the positive impact rescuing homeless cats has on our entire city. We invite everyone to come out, bring your friends, and help us share our message with the wider community in order to realize our vision and ensure that every cat thrives.”
The pub walk will take place in Andersonville where attendees will visit Empirical Brewery, The Meeting House Tavern, The SoFo Tap, and Fat Cat. Each Cat Walk location will feature a mini activity like cat trivia and kitten naming, led by Tree House staff and volunteers. Guests get a passport stamp for every activity completed. Participants with four stamps get entered to win some big giveaway prizes, including an overnight stay for two at the Drake, box seats at a Sox game, and a cocktail making class at KOVAL Distillery.
The Cat Walk takes place Saturday July 27, 2019 from 2 pm – 6 pm. Guests choose a starting place at either Empirical Brewery, 1801 W Foster Ave or Fat Cat, 4840 N Broadway Ave. Meeting House Tavern and SoFo Tap are 21+ but children are welcome at Empirical and Fat Cat.
