Our Programs

Tree House is a safe haven for sick, injured, neglected, and abused cats who often wouldn’t receive a second chance at life anywhere else. But Tree House is much more than a shelter. Our many unique programs and services truly distinguish us in our field. Our innovative programs improve the lives of animals and the guardians who care for them.

Adoption Centers

admission and adoption

Our cageless adoption centers have always set us apart from most other shelters and still serve as a model for humane colony cat housing today. There’s no better place to find a new friend!

Low-Cost Spay/Neuter

ten reasons to spay and neuter

Since our founding, we’ve sterilized and vaccinated nearly 25,000 cats and dogs. Our BDVM Mac Lean Spay/Neuter Clinic provides more than 4,000 spay/neuter packages annually to the neediest companion animals.

Feral Friends TNR Program

help stray feral tnr

Our services include trapping assistance, counseling and assistance with fostering and placement of socialized cats and kittens. We field more than 3,000 requests for help with stray and feral cats and kittens annually.

Foster Program

stock 1

Our foster program helps us to better care for newborn orphans, feral kittens, cats with medical conditions, and elderly cats. Most importantly, it allows us to rescue more cats!

Animal Welfare Advocacy

stock 3

Learn about the current issues affecting animals, and take action however you can to make your voice heard and effect lasting change.

Outreach and Education

stock 5

Every year our Education Outreach Team gives dozens of informational presentations at schools, community centers, libraries, offices and more.

Grief Seminars

stock 2

We developed this program to help individuals understand and cope with the crippling effects of losing a beloved pet.

Animal Assisted Therapy

stock 9

We spread the joy that cats can offer to people who are no longer able to live with their own furry family members because they are in a nursing home or hospital.

Pet Food Pantry

stock 10

Our Pantry distributes free pet food to those in need, so that guardians do not have to relinquish their pets due to financial issues. We also serve registered feral cat colony caretakers.

Wellness Clinic

BDVM_Clinic_SM

Every Monday is Wellness Day at the BDVM Mac Lean Clinic providing our TNR foster cats and kittens, and the cats and dogs of low-income pet guardians and local rescue organizations with free and low-cost veterinary care.
