Black Cat Ball

Black Cat Ball 2012

  • More than 400 people celebrated our work to save the most vulnerable companion animals – sick, injured, abused, and neglected, stray cats.

  • The event was the best in Tree House’s history in terms of funds raised and attendance, grossing more than $160,000!

  • Check out some of the photos from the event on our SmugMug page where you can also purchase photos and the proceeds go to the cats! Be sure to check back again as more photos are still being uploaded. Thanks to all our event photographer Steve Scap, Jim Ziv, and Dallas Yanez!

  • We enjoyed tasty tacos and small plates at Chicago’s elegant Nacional 27 in the vibrant River North Neighborhood.

  • The funds raised will go a long way to help stray cats in need through our spay/neuter and emergency veterinary services, and to kick-off the capital campaign for our new building!

  • The attendees saw a presentation updating them on our capital campaign to build, the best, state-of-the-art, Cat-focused adoption center and low-cost veterinary clinic in the country! The presentation included the proposed floor plans for the new building.

  • Jackson Galaxy of Animal Planet’s “My Cat From Hell” fame was our keynote speaker and wowed the crowd with his heart-felt presentation about the challenges of sheltering cats and his support of the work we do.

  • As always, the program included a short video highlighting our most recent accomplishments and some rescue stories.

  • Attendees also enjoyed the chance to bid on dozens of wonderful prizes in the live and silent auctions, and lucky supporters Glenn and Rachel Rippie also won a “date” with Jackson immediately following the program.

  • Preparations for 2013’s Black Cat Ball will get underway in February. If you are interested in joining the event committee, please contact Erin.
