AUGUST

8/28 (Sat.) Adoption Outreach Event at 4 Legs, 3809 North Clark Street, 12:00 noon – 3:00 p.m.: Located in the heart of Wrigleyville, this lovely pet boutique is filled with goodies for both cats and dogs. Tree House will be there with a spokescat to let the public know about all the hard work we’ve been doing, and to inspire people to help out our Tree House kitties in any way they can.

SEPTEMBER

9/11 (Sat.) 2nd Annual Adopt Hop Chicago Pub Crawl for Animals, Wrigleyville-area bars, 2:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m: The Adopt Hop is a collaborative event among eight different Chicago-area animal shelters and rescue groups, and Wrigleyville-area bars. The mission of this annual campaign is to encourage people to adopt their pets instead of buying them from a store or breeder. With more than four million cats and dogs being killed every year around the country and more than 20,000 in Chicagoland alone, the undeniable fact is that there are too many potential pets and not enough families willing to adopt them.

The Adopt Hop pub crawl will take place from 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. and will be followed by a "Rescue Rally" and Raffle from 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. at Rockit Bar and Grill. The Rescue Rally will be emceed by Josh Alton, who was voted by the Chicago Reader as one of the best comedians in Chicago in 2010! Be sure to visit all the rescue organizations including ALIVE Rescue, Chicago Bully Breed Rescue, Chicago English Bulldog Rescue, New Leash on Life, Project Rescue Chicago, Tree House Humane Society, Virtually Home Chicago, and Young at Heart.

The cost of tickets is $25 in advance (t-shirt and giveaways included). Early registration and additional information can be found at: www.AdoptHopChicago.org. Same day tickets may also be purchased for $30 at any participating bar, including Harry Caray's Tavern, Irish Oak, Murphy's Bleachers, Red Ivy, Rockit Bar and Grill, Sports Corner, Vines on Clark, and Yak-Zies. Proceeds from the Adopt Hop will be shared by the participating rescue organizations.

9/11 (Sat.) & 9/12 (Sun.) Renegade Craft Fair, Division Street between Damen Avenue and Paulina Street, 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m . both days: Renegade is known as the biggest, best, and the most well-known of all the do-it-yourself craft fairs! Art and craft vendors from all over the country flock to Renegade to sell their handmade items. Stop by the nonprofit tent where Tree House, among many other nonprofits, will be handing out literature and selling apparel and handmade toys.

9/12 (Sun.) Mew & View at the Bucktown Branch, 1629 North Ashland Avenue, 7:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.: On Sunday, September 12th, join us for the third 'Mew & View' movie night at Tree House Bucktown! 9/15 (Wed.) TNR Seminar at Tree House Humane Society Bucktown Branch, 1629 North Ashland Avenue, 7:00 p.m.: Information will be given on building inexpensive shelters and a short video presentation will give a step-by-step guide for how to help cats. You'll learn how to humanely trap outdoor cats and be given instructions on how to safely deter cats from where they are not wanted. Join us to network and meet others who are helping cats.

9/18 (Sat.) Adoption Outreach Event, Zane & Zara’s, 2205 West Roscoe Street, 12:00 noon – 3:00 p.m.: Zand & Zara’s offers all natural pet foods, lovely pet toys, and fashion for both companion animals and humans in a quant boutique setting in Roscoe Village. They are also much more than a pet store, also offering dog walking and pet care services.
