Tree House Foster CatsTheir stories are all unique, and yet they all share a common bond - Tree House. They are no more special than any of the other 300 Tree House residents, but the differences in their age, backgrounds, and personalities capture the diversity of Tree House. They embody the plight of every Tree House cat because they have all struggled to survive on some level, only to land in our welcoming arms. We mentioned earlier of the benefits of a $240 annual donation. However, any donation you can make towards the care of these wonderful feline friends will be greatly appreciated. We wouldn't be able to care for them without your help. If you would like to sponsor any of the cats below, please send them an email. They would love to hear from you!
Introducing Our Newest Foster Cat: Chipotle " I could barely use my rear legs when I got to Tree House so they think I may have suffered a spinal cord injury. I can now use my legs but they still have to help me go to the bathroom two times a day. People here call me "Chippie" and like the way I chirp "Hello!" to everyone. I love living here on the First Floor with all my new friends, I hope you'll enjoy hearing all about my adventures here at Tree House!"
Boo Boo Kitty
"I was not even a year old when I came to Tree House with a badly broken tail. They tried to save it, but because it was infected, my tail had to go. This caused me to have less control over my bladder, but I am starting to get a little better about making it to the box. Still, I'm a very playful and loving cat."
Jimmy "I recently graduated from the Socialization Program and now I am very popular in the Step Up Room. My openness to affection is easier now, since I have come out of my shell. Thanks to the patience of Tree House staff, I've become much friendlier and I definitely made a few new friends in my new room!"
Jessika "I was abandoned, and very angry when I got here with all kinds of stress-related ailments. I live in the Development Office now, where I am the resident diva and receive supplements to keep my healthy. I used to have troubles with hyper-thyroidism, but I had Radiocat therapy treatment and am feeling much better now. The people here love me even when I'm crabby. They know how sweet I am even though I don't always show it. "
Ladybug "I was still a young kitten when I arrived at Tree House a few years ago. Life was hard living on the outside, but it also has been a difficult adjustment here at the shelter. I have never known affection, so I am not sure how to handle it, but I am getting the hang of it. I would love it if you wanted to stop and play a little wand toy with me, it's my favotite game!"
Hutchinson "I was hit by a car and spent a long, painful night at the emergency room. As usual, Tree House came to the rescue and nursed me back to health. They say my chances of being adopted are not very good because I am still very scared but I would love to be your three-legged foster cat until I get a home of my own. "
Bogalusa "I am one of the cats the nice people from Tree House rescued from New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. All of the other cats who were rescued have been adopted, but I am still here because I have Feline Immunoficiency Virus (FIV). I am healthy for the most part, but if I were to have any other health problems I would have a more difficult time getting better. When I first got here I was kind of scared, but now I have a lot of friends here in the FIV room! I am friendly and strong of spirit! "
Katydid "I was already spayed when I arrived but my previous owner did not do a good job caring for me. There was so much debris in my ear that it caused permanent nerve damage and my head titls to the side as a result. But no one seems to care here! It just makes me look cuter! They named me Katydid because of my enormous gold eyes. I was afraid when I first got here, but I am getting braver every day! "
Poplo "I was less than a year old when a nice woman saw some mean children throwing stones at me. She brought me to Tree House and I've been the prankster here ever since! Everyone comments on my handsome face and the lovely tufts on my ears. Unfortunately, I have a bad habit-I like to drink lots of water and leave my mark everywhere! I know they don't like it, but the challenge and thrill of doing what I am not supposed to do is just to much fun to give up! I love water so much, that I'll drink it anyway I can, including from a straw! " |
