Mazzy

Mazzy is a super handsome four year old black cat with golden eyes. Mazzy was admitted to our shelter on a cold winters day this past February. He was very scared and near unhandleable upon admission. He was starving, had an infected mouth and big infected absesses all over his body. We suspect he was attacked by a dog. Mazzy’s tattered ears and FIV + status tell us he had quite a hard life on the street. Though it took some time, Mazzy has eventually learned to trust us humans, and he truly enjoys love and affection. Please don’t hesitate to approach him if he doesn't approach you- he is a love ! He will even headbutt you and give you kisses. We are so happy we were able to help Mazzy. He resides in the Sycamore Room on the FIV floor. Please visit him!

Honey Pot

I am Honey Pot!! I was originally part of a huge TNR (trap-neuter-return) project on the south side of Chicago. I was living amongst many, many other kitties, and when I was humanely trapped to be spayed, it was discovered that I was actually incredibly friendly, and not feral at all! Luckily there was space for me at Tree House to be put up for adoption. The down-side is I've come up positive for FIV. The good news is, I am very healthy, as healthy as any other kitty available for adoption here. I am a little doll who loves humans. I am very sweet natured, and will approach you for love. I am also playful and curious. I get a little crabby when other kitties come around and steal human attention. I am the only girl in the FIV room, and someones gotta keep those boys in line!

Thurber

Hello, I’m Thurber. When I first came to Tree House I was so confused and frightened. Luckily for me, the kind people here understand that I may have had limited contact with humans prior to admission to the shelter, or may have had very negative experiences with them. This may be the first time I've been in a comfortable environment and it'd take me some time to wrap my brain around this new experience. I’m still shy and I like to be approached slowly or I may get nervous. I’m realizing rather quickly that I like to be pet by people who I trust. There are many volunteers who stop by specifically to visit with me and it really makes my day. I’d love to go home with a patient, loving person and would make a good companion for any cat too.

Ballou

HI! I’m Ballou! I'm a short haired white with brown tabby boy who is about 5 years old. I can be distinquished by my large cheeks and trademark meow. I'm very personable, and will probably be one of the first cats to approach you when you enter my room. I may also be the first to get onto your lap as well. I love people attention! I can get a little jealous when other cats are around, and sometimes I'll swat or maybe hiss at them. I'm not aggressive, I just love me some lovin'!
