My name is Abilene! I am a weighty girl (16 1/2 lbs!) who is up for adoption on the first floor of the shelter. My special need is that I would really benefit from a diet program, and I also have Chronic Rhinitis. {{ Rhinitis is an inflammation of the nasal passageways, which causes irritation. The result is some discharge from the nose, and sometimes the eyes. Increased warmth and humidity may help Abi, as well as an inhaled steroid, and decongestant drops. She wil most likely need to see a vet a bit more frequently that normal. Abilene, however, is extremely patient, and takes any medications she may need very well. She is very loving, and mellow, and a very sweet natured kitty.}} Email Abiliene if you would like more information. |

Hi, I’m Grinch! Despite the connotations of my name, I am a very sweet natured extra large sized boy. I have a heart condition called Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy. I simply take a daily pill for this. I love human attention very much. I was found outside abandoned by my owner. I’d love to have a second chance at a home of my own. I’m an easy going cat that would be a great addition to a family that perhaps were just looking for one cat. Email Grinch if you would like more information on him or FIV. |

My name is Lemuria. I have some neurological problems which make my movements a little off and wobbly. I do not take a medication. I am a sweet girl, and don’t have any other medical issues. The people at Tree House say I would be a great companion, and I do like attention. One of my favorite things to do is pace the windows of Tree House watching the pigeons (someone has to keep them in line now). |

My name is Vera, and I am very little, very petite. I am a beautiful tortoiseshell girl. I am mellow and calm and even though I really like attention and love from my humans, I am not the type to approach you and beg for it. I don't have much of an interest in toys. My favorite thing is to just relax in a window sill, on the floor in the sunlight rays or perhaps a wicker basket. I get along well with other cats, actually I really don't acknowledge their presence, and I'm pretty much a loner cat. I have stomatitis, is an occasional reoccuring flare-up of inflammation in the mouth and gums which is painful. It is easily detectable, and there is a medication to make me all better again. Please speak to a counselor for more information!! Email Vera if you would like more information. |

My name is Seabiscuit! I am about 6 months old! There is a reason my picture to the left looks blurry- I can't sit still! And no need to adjust your screen, I am cross-eyed. I am ever so active, and just an absolute Dickens. I love to play with pretty much any toy, fur tumble weed, and beverage cap that comes across my path. I get along very well with other cats too, and love to rough-house with them. I am under the special needs section here because I have a mild heart issue called a Ventrical Septal Defect. I also have been diagnosed with Rhinitis, which means I have some chronic congestion and watery eyes. A supplement called Lysine is put into my food to help me with this issue. The counselors at Tree House would be more than happy to take the time to help you understand my condition, and what it means for my future. I am a darling, and worth any extra effort. :) Email Seabiscuit if you would like more information. |

My name is Wyoming. I was admitted to Tree House as a stray kitten with my siblings Oregon and Alabama. I was an adorable, fluffy kitten who was adopted out very quickly. I was doted upon, and loved and given everything I could ever want. Then one day, someone moved into the household who had severe allergies to cats. Unfortunately, the owner decided to give me up, so I had to go back to the shelter 11 years later. I had never been around other cats before. I never had to share my food or my blankets before, and I am very confused, and very upset about why this happened to me. I stay by myself most days, sitting in a litter box, or sitting on a bench facing the wall, because its difficult for me to live here. When people I don't know approach me here, I don't know if I'm supposed to trust them, and be affectionate towards them, or not. I surrounded by other cats now, and I don't know how to get along with them, because I've never been around them. I suppose it's difficult for an adopter to decide if they want me or not, because I can be aloof, or grouchy. I'm having a rough time here. I'd like to find a home where someone will understand what I've been through. The adoption counselors here think I'm worth the extra adjustment time, and will be eternally grateful, loyal, and loving to my new owner.
